About Dr. John H. Dixon
Dr. John Dixon is an experienced education leader with more than 15 years dedicated to expanding opportunity for students. A native of Meridian, Mississippi, he has served as a teacher, school leader, and nonprofit executive with a focus on student achievement, leadership development, and educator recruitment.
Before joining MCSA, Dr. Dixon led national efforts to expand college access for students in more than 500 under-resourced high schools as Managing Director of K–12 Partnerships at the National Education Equity Lab. He began his career teaching middle school English in Houston through Teach For America and later at KIPP New Orleans.
Dr. Dixon holds a Ph.D. in K–12 Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi, a master’s in Education Policy and Leadership from American University, and a bachelor’s degree from Xavier University of Louisiana.
